Mayda Atelier – Clothing to Cherish
I especially love working with artists and creatives, and recently had the privilege to collaborate with Laura Lambrecht, founder and Colorado-based artist behind Mayda Atelier.
Laura needed to design a brand to represent her beautiful line of handmade, one-of-a-kind clothing. The Mayda collection is made from vintage textiles like embroidered tablecloths, generational quilts, lacework and floral handkerchiefs. Laura’s work is truly unique, every piece is designed and made by hand in her sunny studio. Laura also sources every textile she uses from thrifted or discarded vintage goods.
Laura is also passionate about ethical and environmental practices. Her collection is naturally eco conscious as she re-uses beautiful textiles. It is truly the opposite of fast fashion.
Another unique perspective is the fit of Mayda, the styles look effortless and fit a wide range of body types.
After meeting Laura and seeing (and feeling) her gorgeous clothing, I knew her brand needed to reflect the handmade nature of her line as well as nod to the feminine, eco-conscious and truly one-off nature of her designs. Laura spoke to me about being inspired by nature and the small details of vintage textiles and quilting. I knew she needed a logo that was hand drawn and reflective of her sophisticated yet approachable style.
We worked together to create a brand that honored her mission and aesthetic with a playful, hand drawn mark that nods to femininity, nature and lovely imperfection.
