Treat Yo’Self – YoBucha is delish
Anna Postek is the master chef and business brain behind the new brand YoBucha. We worked together when her Kombucha + Yogurt was originally called Kombucha Dream. After our first meeting, I ran to Alfalfa’s and bought the three flavors offered at that time. I served them to my family as dessert that night. They loved them, my son especially who is all about creamy, custardy sweet things. I loved the probiotics and relatively low sugar in these treats, that taste amazing, btw.
So the inside was great…but the outside (original package) just wasn’t doing it. It reminded me of the store-bought 7-layer Super Bowl dip rather than a sweet treat with healthy ingredients. After some R&D at Whole Foods, Luckys and King Soops, two things stood out to me…the very large yogurt shelf is a sea of white, lots of the brands show actual photos of the flavors, and most are packed with sugar (like 15-20 grams!) So, I really wanted to emphasize how YoBucha was different – that is tastes great, but is low in sugar compared to the many yogurt brands out there masquerading as a healthy breakfast option. YoBucha is dreamy, creamy almost ethereal with its smooth custard, sweet fruit and tangy kombucha layer. We wanted to convey health and indulgence. Watercolor struck me as the way to show the blended flavors and to escape the sameness happening on the noisy and crowded yogurt shelves. We worked closely with an illustrator to convey the artisanal quality of Anna’s flavor blends. Anna was a dream to work with, and her product is truly special! Visit YoBucha.com to learn more.
